ABOUT US

2014

I am a professional chef living in Montreal and studied at Huddersfield Polytechnic in England. I graduated with a Higher National Diploma in Hotel Management and Catering

I have worked at the Hilton Bonaventure in Montreal formally known as the Westin Hotel , the Ritz Carlton in Montreal and Hotel-Motel Altitude in Ste-Adèle.

When I started at the Hilton I was a "commis de Cuisine" and was gradually promoted to Sous-Chef.In the 13 years I was there , I took part in various food festivals and participated in many cooking competitions.

Some of the awards I have won include the TROPHEE ESCOFFIER by Salon Culinaire du Québec for Saumon Neptune and the CHEF REINHOLD KELLER AWARD from the Westin Hotel for developing one of the outstanding culinary recipe of the year.

At the Ritz-Carlton I was the Sous-Chef and at the Hotel-Motel Altitude I was the Chef.

I took a 15 year break where I owned a depanneur under the banner of Couche Tard a grocery store under the banner of Metro-Richeliu. While at the grocery store my love and passion for cooking was still alive as I would cook fresh meals for the elderly.

I returned to the cooking industry in 2002 working for catering companies and various well known restaurants allowing me to broaden my horizon and master my styles of cooking.

Now I am on my way to serve you from my home where every care will be taken to meet your demands, With over 30 years in cooking experience, SOMANI CATERING will design menus to your taste and will try to offer multi-ethnic cooking. We will try to use local products by working hand in hand with local farmers and artisans.

In addition this new venture will always have the same motto" Love of work well done".
